The "Secret Knowledge" is a term used to describe the use of lens by artists to trace their subjects. My opinion of art work of the artists who used this technique does not change. While anyone may be able to trace something, not everyone can manipulate different mediums to give a realistic or artist look.
The models of how the lens worked I thought was very fasinating. I'm a very visual learner, and often have a hard time visualizing how things work without some sort of demonstration. I feel that without the models, I wouldn't have have truly understood the way they worked.

Meg, I am a visual learner also. I like to see the actual process of how and why things takes place. That makes it more interesting to me. That's why I keep mentioning you pictures. I like to have an image or video to help convey your responses to me.
ReplyDeleteI honestly believe it is a bit of both. Some people are born with the naturl talent of looking at an image and reproducing it with little effort. Others can learn how to draw with much practice. That's why some people can draw more than others. Take me for instance, I can draw and usually enjoy drawing portraits, but I cannot draw like picasso or Da Vinci. It all depends on how you classify drawing.
